Dahlem V: Public Consultation Has Started

In the Dahlem V project, the public consultation and participation has begun.

Trier/Euskirchen. On 04-05-2021, the public display of the permit application according to BImSchG for the wind farm project Dahlem V has started. The documents can be inspected up to and including 05-31-2021. The public announcement, information on the application, the procedure and the display points can be found via the following link of the approval authority Kreis Euskirchen:

Public consultation Dahlem V (in german language only)

The objections received to the project will be discussed at a meeting on September 20, 2021. DunoAir has requested that a formal procedure with an environmental impact assessment (EIA) be carried out, so that the preliminary assessment has been omitted and the public will be involved in the procedure.

DunoAir plans to erect and operate three E-147 EP5 E2 wind turbines, each with a nominal capacity of 5 MW and a hub height of 155 m, in the municipality of Dahlem (NRW). Commissioning is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2022.

Nature conservationists react in their usual knee-jerk manner

As to be expected, the NABU Euskirchen and the Naturschutzinitiative (NI) react to the announcement of the open position (the application had been known for a long time) quasi reflexively with great horror. The black stork's habitat is being destroyed more and more by the allegedly irresponsible actions of DunoAir. The existing and planned wind turbines make a considerable contribution to the reduction of climate-damaging CO2

Black stork feels at home

It is interesting that the black stork obviously feels very comfortable in the community of Dahlem. Since the planning and construction of the wind farms began, the population of the black stork has fortunately developed positively. The population is therefore not shrinking at all due to wind power, but is growing and thriving. It even settles in the immediate vicinity of existing wind turbines and apparently has no problems at all with the rotating rotors. The black stork is - contrary to the constant assertions - not considered to be at risk of being struck, it recognizes and flies around the wind turbines.

Once again the always same pattern of the here acting actors from the nature protection associations shows up. Facts are turned or stretched and repeated matra-like as often as possible, in the hope sometime already someone will believe it. It is not about the protection of nature, it is about the general rejection of wind energy as a necessary instrument for the containment of climate change. This antiquated and reactionary behavior prevents a modern nature conservation that recognizes the here and now and is oriented towards the future.

DunoAir makes an active contribution to climate protection and thus an essential contribution to nature conservation, which will not work in the long run by mere demands for more nature. Nobody wants to go back to pre-industrial times. Modern kitchens, central heating, electricity from the socket for the countless electrical devices and bicycles, mobility have become beloved companions for us. The electricity we all need for this must be produced in a way that is as climate- and nature-friendly as possible. This only works with wind energy, where the wind blows!

That is what we are working for and putting our energy in! So that we can also live comfortably and environmentally friendly tomorrow and the day after tomorrow!
